PROCLAMATION BY JOHN LYNCH
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

WHEREAS, International education promotes tolerance and builds friendships between the United States and other nations; and

WHEREAS, International education and exchange include thousands of programs - both public and private, campus-based and national - that promote the sharing of ideas and experiences across borders; and

WHEREAS, More than 2,000 foreign students are currently studying at New Hampshire colleges and universities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, John H. Lynch, Governor of the State of New Hampshire, do hereby proclaim November 14 - 18, 2005, as INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK in New Hampshire, and encourage all citizens to recognize the importance of international education in our lives and communities.

Given at the Executive Chamber in Concord, this 2nd day of November, in the year of Our Lord two thousand and five, and the independence of the United States of America, two hundred and twenty-nine.
